When I got saved, I thought I’d spend my life walking beside still waters and lying down in green pastures [Psalms 23:2]. I had no idea embracing Yeshua [Jesus Christ] as the captain of my salvation meant I was enlisting as a soldier in the army of God [2 Timothy 2:3].
I’ve since learned that believers are soldiers and Jesus Christ did not come to bring peace but a sword [Matthew 10:34]. I’ve discovered that we’re more than conquerors in Christ, which also tells me ungodly and unseen forces are trying to conquer us [Psalms 43:1], and stop us from entering God’s Kingdom [Daniel 7:27].
Keep this truth in mind: the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy [John 1:10]. Every demon has the same mission. How they go about it – their strategies and tactics – are different. A spirit of fear attacks your faith, for example [ David and Goliath story ] while a spirit of rejection attacks your identity. The enemy is strategic; has a highly organized army, and able to send specific evil spirits against believers to derail them from their kingdom purpose [Ephesians 6:12].
My prayer for you brothers and sisters as you connect with me on this blog, is that, you will gain discernment to identify spirits opposing your life – and the lives of those you love – and develop spiritual battle skills to battle back. Spiritual bondage can manifest in many ways – our spiritual life, health, relationships, marriage, finances, family, education, career and business – but the good news is that victory is ours; by walking in our God-given authority, we can effectively face these battles and win in warfare. Amen
Creation begun with the power of the ‘word’ [John 1:1-17] where God spoke into existence the Heavens, the Earth and everything in it ; In Genesis 1:3, Then God said,”Let there be light,”and there was light. God created us all in His own image so we have power in our words; is very important choosing words wisely. With our tongues we either speak ; life or death, victory or defeat, weakness or strength , insecurity or confidence and trust or doubt. Your words can teach, encourage and uplift. They can also discourage, reject and demean, express gratitude, love, and joy, express selfishness, hate and despondency. Whatever you say, you should be prepared to eat the fruit of your words [Proverbs 18:26]. Jesus Christ [Yeshua] has warned us that, on the day of judgement ,we will all account for every careless word ever spoken. For by our words we will be acquitted, and by our words we will be condemned [Matthew 12:36-37]. The words we speak have long lasting impact directly connected to our present and future circumstances. The Bible reveals several accounts regarding individuals either watching their mouths or carelessly using words. In both cases we are shown the effect of the tongue’s power. Joseph did not keep his mouth shut about his dreams and his own brothers hated him more, so sold him into slavery [Genesis 37:1-36]; if the enemy doesn’t know ‘your plans’, he cannot attack you. You’d be surprised how your words and the words of people around you including parents in the past are effecting your situation today.
Our aim is to ask for the Grace of God, so we know what to say about our situations and not what our inconsistent emotions want us to declare. God is aware of your heart, intentions and words. God even knows what you are going to say before you say it [ Psalm 139:4 ]. Our hearts and mouths are closely interconnected and require constant inspection to ensure acceptability in God’s sight. Our words reveal what our heart is full of, which is either the fruit of goodness or wickedness [Luke 6:45 ]. In the Bible, we read about the account of Ananias and Sapphira. Their hearts were deceitful in their actions which exposed insincerity. Ananias died and his body was carried out and buried when he lied to the apostles about their earnings, bringing only a portion of the profit. Sapphira didn’t watch her mouth although given the opportunity to speak truth and examine her heart an hour later when questioned by Peter. Sapphira declared the established lie discussed with her husband continuing on with deceit and hypocrisy therefore triggering her immediate death [Acts 5:1-11]. Ananias and Sapphira didn’t lie to the apostles but they lied to God. What is your heart full of? What is coming out of your mouth? Are your words and heart’s meditations pleasing before God?.
Everyone close to me will tell what the words “It is well”, mean to me. I even have Personalized T-Shirt’s made with these words. In 2 Kings 4, the Shunammite woman serves as an excellent example for all believers to follow in guarding one’s mouth in the midst of difficulty. For a parent to witness and experience the death of their child is an indescribable feeling that only God’s grace and comforting power can alleviate them from, but in the midst of pain, fear, depression, anxiety and alarm she was very careful with her words as she sought after the face of God. The Shumammite woman guarded her mouth as she carried her son and laid him on the bed and shut the door. She guarded her mouth when she requested transportation from her husband to pursue the Man of God. When her husband asked her the purpose of her visit to Elisha, she replied, “It will be all right.” The Shunammite woman was speaking life into her situation. She guarded her mouth when Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, approached her and questioned her regarding the well-being of herself, her husband and the child, but she answered, “It is well”[ 2 Kings 4:26]. Stop complaining and telling everyone about your situation instead seek the face of God. Even when she approached Elisha and took hold of his feet, she guarded her mouth and didn’t speak death. Elisha prayed to the LORD and the Power of God through the willingness of Elisha resulted in the healing of her son. What a powerful example to follow! When overwhelmed in a situation- don’t declare ”you must as well die” – This is a secret weapon our enemy uses to connect (the demon of death comes into your life)- the power of our own tongue then brings more pain and suffering.
When you disrespect God-given relationships and authority, it can bring about significant consequences. We have to be careful not to allow words to come out of our mouths that discredit, disrespect and demean individuals God put in authority over us. One might not enjoy the authority’s method, but if God put the individual in position one is commanded to submit unto them. It is vital to ask God for wisdom regarding the authorities you have been placed under, seek God’s direction. In Genesis 12:3, God Made a covenant with Moses before putting him in authority- ”And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” .In the story of Miriam and Aaron, they didn’t watch their mouths when they murmured against their brother Moses, God’s chosen leader for the Israelites because of his wife. The LORD came down personally in a pillar of cloud and stood at the doorway of the tabernacle and called forward Aaron and Miriam. God corrected and disciplined them for their words against Moses’ leadership appointed by God, his relationship with God and his anointing from God. As a result Miriam was leprous and confined outside of the camp for seven days. Additionally, Aaron pleaded with Moses for forgiveness and the Israelites could not move forward until Miriam was declared ceremonially clean. Our words not only affect our circumstances, they affect those around us. It is of extreme importance to genuinely speak words that edify, encourage and respect others. We must keep our hearts aligned with what is acceptable in God’s sight and guard our mouths continuously. What is in your heart or said about your parents, manager at work or a pastor /man of God?
Our mouths propel us forward when we speak God’s promises in faithful expectation – but set us and those around back, when we speak from our emotions and feelings. It is vital for anyone who says they believe and trust God to watch their mouths as His plan of good and purpose is brought to light. Lets look at the story of Caleb and Joshua in Numbers 13 and 14. The LORD told Moses to send men to spy out the land of Canaan [the land that he already promised to give the sons of Israel] . The twelve spies went on a forty-day excursion to learn more about the land, and when they returned at the end of the forty days they reported to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the sons of Israel the land’s abundant prosperity flowing with milk and honey. Caleb spoke life and agreed with God’s word by saying, “Let us go up at once and take possession of it; for we will certainly conquer it.” But the other spies except Joshua continued speaking death and defeat thus creating a chain reaction with the Israelites to murmur against Moses, Aaron and the LORD. By not watching their mouths the Israelites who complained died in the wilderness. By not watching their mouths the Israelites who complained, their children were set back forty years before they entered the Promised Land. By not watching their mouths the ten spies who brought back the bad report of the land died by a plague before the LORD. Caleb and Joshua remained alive out of the men who went to spy out the land. Additionally, God promised that they would enter into the Promised Land and their descendants would take possession of it. What are you telling your children? what did you hear your parents saying growing up? did they accept that sickness is a genetic condition or said we are poor all the time? Is it fibroid in the family? Is it Cancer in the family? Is there no settle home/marriages in your family ? In Jesus Christ name , I break that yoke of curses upon your life and family.
No matter what is going on in your life, aim to thank God for his goodness and love [1 Thessalonians 5:16-18]. Thanking God is essential and it is His will that children of covenant give thanks to him. God is worthy and deserving of our praise, because he is good, loving, faithful, gracious, forgiving and merciful. We must watch our mouths when trials, tribulations and life’s challenges come and our emotions want to negatively express our perspective regarding our current circumstance . Are you in a sick bed? are your finances in a mess? have the doctors told you that , you can never have a child? is your relationship or marriage at the point of breakdown? your career , family , health or education facing challenges? Even in the midst of trials and tribulations guard your lips, speak God’s word and “WATCH YOUR MOUTH!”. Don’t focus on your trials and listen to the enemy that, nothing will change; begin declaring God’s word instead. As followers of Yeshua we require discipline, trust, and faith in our tribulations. But once you begin to get in the habit of using our words wisely in thanksgiving and praise to God, when the wrong words try to come out, you will be able to take action and bounce back to God’s words and speak victory into your life.
The Healing of the man by Jesus Christ [Yeshua] who has been sick for thirty-eight years at the Pool of Bethzatha (‘House of Mercy’ in Hebrew) should bring one question into our spirit. A large crowd of sick people were lying on the porches—the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed. Why did Yeshua saw him lying there, and knew that the man had been sick for such a long time; but still asked him, “Do you want to get well?” [John 5:6]. In this story, this man have had so many bad experiences and setbacks over the years trying to get into the pool when the Angel of the Lord comes to stir up the water for healing; yet was unable to position himself as close to the pool as possible and be ready for the ‘battle’ ahead. The sick man answered Jesus Christ, “Sir, I don’t have anyone here to put me in the pool when the water is stirred up; while I am trying to get in, somebody else gets there first” [John 5:1-8]. Logically, you would think after so many years – one would just sit at the end of the pool everyday and just throw themselves into the water when it get stirred up. The simple truth is that, so many believers have been trapped spiritually by the enemy for years and as a result, have been unable to re-positioned themselves for victory in Jesus Christ. Are you depressed , have fear, sick or worried about the future for a long time? Jesus Christ is standing close by asking ‘if you want to get well?
In the Military, there are various tactics relating to positioning deployed in combat to prevent being under attack by the enemy. Combat that takes place at night often requires more preparation than combat during daylight and can provide significant tactical advantages and disadvantages to both the attacker and defender. Let us not sleep therefore like others, but let us be watchful and sensible [1 Thessalonians 5:6]. Our enemy attacks all the time non-stop like a powerful force of attackers that goes forth like locusts to torment mankind and destroy [Revelation 9]. The enemy is of darkness and does all his planning during these period. Waging an attack with Prayer at these time provides a significant advantage in our battles. Our commander in Chief Yeshua, has thought us to pray very early in the morning, while it was still dark at a solitary place [Mark 1:35]. When you develop a habit of praying at these period you become that light which shines in the darkness around you. We are in this world of darkness yet it will not overcome us [John 1:5]. Position yourself not to be sleeping excessively and be discipline. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion, stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere [Ephesians 6:18]. Prayer aids divine positioning; when you pray, The Holy Spirit positions you at the right place, at the right time, to be part of Gods Power and Glory [Acts 10:1-33].
Smoke screening is another tactics deployed by creating clouds of smoke positioned to provide concealment, allowing military forces to advance or retreat across open terrain without coming under attack from the enemy. The closest people around you ensures that , you position yourself to either win or loose in your battles; they either provide ‘concealment’ or expose you to the enemy. Our commander in Chief Yeshua knew he can’t fight the battle preaching the Kingdom of God alone [Luke 4:43]. He selected twelve disciples out of the many that wanted to follow him [Matthew 10:1-4]. Not only did Yeshua had disciples but also had an inner circle within. You need the closest people around to encourage but not to discourage you. Do you have people that are always negative and only able to tell you the truth based on their understanding but not in spirit? When Jesus Christ raised the twelve year old daughter of Jairus from the dead, He entered the house and did not allow anyone to go in with Him except three of His disciples -Peter, John, James, and the child’s father and mother. He did not want to give the opportunity to any opposition and negativity. Her parents were astounded when the little girl got up, but Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened. Why? the simple truth is that, it wasn’t Gods time. Positioning yourselves with people that talk too much about your affairs and victories exposes you to the enemy to be attacked [Luke 8:49-56]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue; Those who love it will eat its fruit [Proverbs 18:21].
The Sick man at the Pool of Bethzatha also identified no one was around to put him into the pool’. If you trust and position yourself to be helped by man, you will be disappointed . God does not trust his heavenly servants; He finds fault even with his Angels [Job 4:18]. Position yourself to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way [Proverbs 3:5-6]. Another tactic on positioning in battle is working in ‘fire teams’ known as leapfrogging’ -where one team attempts to suppress the enemy while the other moves either toward the enemy or to a more favourable position. Yeshua said ”where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them”[Matthew 18:20]. Are the people around you prayerful and living a righteous life? Are you praying together with anyone? do you go to church to pray and fellowship with other believers? does your partner or spouse pray? These are some of the questions you need to meditate on, so you are able to position yourself to suppress the enemy all the time. Do not be associates with those who are unbelievers; for what partnership has righteousness with evil, or what intimacy has light with darkness? [2 Corinthians 6:14].
There are standard basic drills that all individual soldiers are supposed to perform if they come under fire in a battlefield. First of all, no one keep their heads up when coming under fire. Keeping your head up is simply pride in the spiritual sense. Pride is a spiritual entity that connects you with darkness – When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom [Proverbs 11:2]. Jesus Christ, said “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted [Matthew 23:12]. Secondly, don’t position yourself telling everyone about your problems, but be selective with your ‘spiritual inner circle’; or you end up conceding defeat. You should position yourself to offload those cares to the One who has promised to care for you [1 Peter 5:7]. Remember we are not like others- one of our weapons is praise and worship; they are so powerful in breaking any chain of fears attached to our lives [Psalm 56:3]. Position yourself to give praise and worship to the Almighty God; it brings HIS presence into our lives in times of loneliness, rejection or Despair [Psalm 22]. Jesus Christ said, “…I have kept My Father’s commandments and remained in His Love” [John 15:10]. Positioning yourself to remember and obey -The Ten commandments. This ensures that, you are protected by God’s Love. Meditate on the Lord’s prayer (Our Father). Yeshua taught us how to pray because is the WORD – a powerful weapon that defeats the enemy each time in battle. Each sentence in the Lord’s Prayer is a sermon on itself [Matthew 6:9-13].
Don’t Position yourselves to destroy your soul trying to learn how to pray, but allow the Holy Spirit that lives in you to guide you to pray. Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave and be strong [1 Corinthians 16:13]. Positioning yourself through repentance and forgiveness ensures that, the Holy spirit stays with you. Repentance is playing our part where forgiveness is Gods reaction for our effort. Yeshua said, ”whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing” [Mark 11:25]. Position yourself not to hold grudges with people, pain of the past and anger. God told Abraham my name is I AM WHO I AM [Exodus 3:14]- The God we serve is a God of Now, He Acts Now, He Forgives Now, He Delivers Now- Position yourself to stay away from sin Now. Don’t you yourselves know that, you are God’s temple and that the spirit of God lives in you? [1 Corinthians 3:16]. Yeshua said, the whole commandments is summed up in this sentence -You are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your understanding; and your neighbour as yourself- [Luke 10:27]. If you love God, you will position yourself, to follow HIS commandment’s.
Lord Almighty God, give me the Grace to follow your commands; position me for your Power and Glory in Jesus Christ name. Amen
Mark 5:21–43 Matthew 9:18–26 Luke 8:40–56 Acts 17:26-28 Acts 10 (whole chapter) Luke 1:37 1 Kings 19:3-5,15 Romans 8:31-39 Luke 18:31 John 1:11-13
You must have had this question cross your mind – ”Our Lord is a Sovereign God, so why has HE allowed our enemy, satan to live?”. The fact is that God can choose anytime to ‘take him out’, throw him into the lake of fire; God says HE is going to do that and will include all those whose names are not found in the book of life .In the logical world, the simple solution to any problem is to deal with it at the source, so if that’s the case, then why not take our enemy out yesterday so we are free today and no longer tempted to sin ? Only God knows the answer, for his way of managing good and evil is wiser than our understanding. Our Lord Adonai has ordained a long leash for satan to be able to roam all four corners of the earth [Revelation 20:7-15]. God knows as we walk in and out of temptations, struggles, troubles and pain as a result of spiritual and physical attacks by the enemy, more of HIS Glory will shine in that battle than if HE ‘took him out’. Our enemy is already a defeated foe- Jesus Christ [Yeshua], has given us the authority to overcome all the powers of the enemy [Luke 10: 19].
Before engaging in any warfare it is sensible to know your enemy, it’s capability and commander then you be able to prepare properly for battle. No Army runs blindly out onto a battlefield to fight not knowing what the conditions are. There is always a brief about the enemy or you wouldn’t know where to even begin the battle. The Bible tells us in I Peter 5:8 that, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour ”. Here the enemy is compared to a lion. A lion is proud and fears nothing, it goes where it pleases and looks for the weak to prey upon. Satan does the same thing. He is constantly looking for people who are weak in their spiritual life so he can tear them down. How is your charitable and prayer life? Leading a righteous life, loving God and following his commandments will make you untouchable. You become weak when you begin to live in sin; his ‘main meal’ :- these are the afflictions and setbacks we face in our life’s relating to spiritual life, finances, family, relationships and marriage, career, business etc. Where the enemy is not able to attack you directly – he attacks the weak people around you to distract you from your God given purpose; have no fear, endure and class this as ‘foolish things’ by the enemy even if is death (bereavement)- there is always injuries and fatalities in any battle. “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell ”[Matthew 10:28].
Our Commander in chief Yeshua has given us information about the enemy and described him as the father of lies and a murderer from the beginning [John 8:43-44 ]. This is one way that he attacks and brings down believers. Jesus Christ called our enemy the “prince of this world”. So if we think of this; A prince is one with authority that others will obey and that he has control over; can influence nations- the enemy is able to use them for atrocities and genocides to kill and destroy – Nazi Germany, Yemeni Civil War, Sudanese Civil War, Syria just to name a few. The enemy is currently using big nations to turn against God’s commandments on the pretence of equality and human rights – changing and making new laws on marriage and sexuality. Yeshua himself acknowledges the enemy’s authority ordained for this world by God [John 12:31, 14:30 and 16:11]. However, when we are saved we are no longer “of this world” and as such are loosed from the enemy’s authority; HE that is in us is greater than that of this world [1 John 4:4]. If you continue to lie, deceive and manipulate people for your own gain, then you are an instrument of the enemy to use anytime he wants.
Our enemy is also referred to as the “prince of the air” so not only is he the prince of this world but also of the air [Ephesians 2:2]. This is a ruler with authority and power in heavenly places- and still has access to speak to God on the throne [Job 1:7]; This power is however limited, contained and restrained. The devil is not as many picture him with a pitchfork, horns and tail. He is nothing of this nature. He was the most beautiful of angels with shining splendor and pride entered into him [Ezekiel 28:7]. You may be thinking why should this happen? God gave us the power of free will. God did not make him an ugly disgusting creature because everything God creates – HE does it to HIS perfection. Our enemy rebelled against God and deceived 1/3 of angels to follow him -he was defeated in battle and locked up for a period; now roaming about on earth after being thrown out of heaven with his followers [Isaiah 14:12]. His Army is very organised as a result. Those in the heavens and dwell in them rejoiced! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil is now here with us! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short”[Revelation 12:7-12]. Just like a president gets blamed for everything bad and praised for everything good though not directly involved – that’s the same attributes to our enemy – his army are out there causing destruction and following commands. Keep this truth in mind: the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy [John 1:10]. Every demon has the same mission. How they go about it – their strategies and tactics -are different.
The enemy can not control or force you to sin because if you submit yourselves to God, you able to resist the devil, and he will flee from you [James 4:7]. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. Do so in the knowledge that your fellow believers are enduring the same suffering throughout the world [1 Peter 5:9]. No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be loyal to the one and have contempt for the other. You cannot serve God and money [Matthew 6:24]. The enemy uses this same world to recruit and attack believers. Is money controlling you or you have dominion over money? Everything God created has a name and a Purpose ; our enemy was called Lucifer which means “bearer of light” or “morning star,” refers to his former splendor as the greatest of the angels [Isaiah 14:12], then it all changed when he rebelled against God to ‘father of lies’ ; satan meaning “accuser” or “adversary” and other names relating to his evil deeds. The way you call yourself -the meaning of your name may all be what has connected you to the enemy with all the afflictions and setbacks in life. We innocent yet our names may be cursed as a result of our ancestors.
The enemy can not tempt without God’s permission and has good knowledge of the scriptures. Jesus Christ however recognized this for what it was and rebuked satan, not once but 3 times; satan had even taken scripture out of context but was defeated with the word of God [Matthew 4:1-11]. No temptation has seized you that isn’t common for people, but God is faithful. He won’t allow you to be tempted beyond your abilities. Instead, with the temptation, God will also supply a way out so that you will be able to endure it [1 Corinthians 10:13]. Begin to defeat all your temptations with the word of God. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one [James 1:13]. Watch your tongue for our words can be destructive and the enemy is able to connect and attack us through it [Proverbs 18:21]. With his trained Army they are able to blind the minds of people who are not believers so they do not come to know the gospel of Jesus Christ [ 2 Corinthians 4:4].
The enemy can not read your mind but because of the number of years in existence and the vast knowledge about mankind is able to predict our behaviour. Only God knows [1 Kings 8:39]; Our commander in chief Yeshua knows our hearts and minds [John 2:25, Matthew 9:4, John 6:64]. The enemy however, can send you evil thoughts and ideas [Acts 5:3]. The enemy can control the unsaved and make them do his will. Our enemy doesn’t know the future either and have no control over it except God. If he knew the future – he wouldn’t have gotten the Son of Man crucified [Isaiah 46:9-10]. The enemy can not overcome you if you trust in God ; The enemy can not separate us from God if we accept Yeshua as our saviour [Romans 8:37-39]. God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him [John 3:16-17].
The enemy can not inflict pain or suffering without God’s permission- if you remember the story of Job , Satan has to be given permission and limitation [Job 1:12]. All the problems you face right now , God works out everything for good and in absolute control. Everything bad that happens to us is filtered by God. God allowed Joseph to be sold as a slave by his own brothers only to end up becoming the minister of Egypt [Genesis 37, 41]; if people have been used by satan to inflict pain and suffering on you, remember Joseph and fear not, though evil has been plotted against you; God allowed it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save you and draw you inline with your destiny [Genesis 50:19-20]. The enemy is able to harass when allowed by God, physically and spiritually like in the story of King Saul [1 Samuel 16:14-16] and Apostle Paul having a thorn in his flesh , but God’s grace will always be sufficient for us through all our troubles and His power made perfect in our weaknesses [2 Corinthians 12:7-10].
The enemy can use all sorts of mediums such as people, animals, objects and places to attack- Our enemy attacks all the time non-stop like a powerful force of attackers that goes forth like locusts to torment mankind and destroy [Revelation 9]. Apostle Paul has warned about being deceived by Satan, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers. Transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ and no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers or righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works [2 Corinthians 11:13-15]. ”Paul is warning of people who appear to be something they are not. Not all followers of Satan are obvious; many are standing in pulpits in Christian churches today even preaching the gospel of salvation. Here we see infiltration going on by the enemy. We should be on our guard against these people- for they will come to us in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves ;we will however, know those sent by our Lord God by their fruits [Matthew 7:15-20]. Our commander in chief Jesus Christ has also warned us that, our worst enemies will be the people closest to us – family used as instruments by the enemy [Matthew 10:36].
What are the people around you influencing in your life? Is it for your salvation or destruction? Good old story of Samson and Delilah says it all [Judges 16]. Consider the places you go and ask a simple question – will Jesus Christ follow me here? Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? [2 Corinthians 6:14]. The ‘new order of this world’ controlled by the enemy are lifestyles and different sexuality against God’s plan. Whenever a rainbow appears in the sky, it is God’s promise to us and to all other living creatures that, never again will floodwaters destroy all life as a result of our grievous sins- if you have ears listen [Genesis 9:8-16]. When it comes to objects – we all remember the mediums God used, ‘the staff of Moses” to show his power and glory- delivered the Israelite’s from Egypt [Exodus 4:17 ]. The hem of Jesus Christ healing the woman with the issue of bleeding [Mark 5:25-28]. The power of anointing oil can break the yoke of afflictions. [James 5:14-16]. Our enemy uses various mediums to attack also. Have you been somewhere and been given any object to carry out anything ungodly in search of solution to your afflictions? Apostle Paul burned sorcery books as a result of it’s evil powers [Acts 19:19]. When it comes to animals, Jesus Christ [Yeshua] cast out demons and they begged Him to enter pigs [Mark 5:1–21]. God used a donkey to speak [Numbers 22:28]; God also used ravens to feed His prophet Elijah [1 Kings 17:2-7]. Pray for your animals and pets so they are not used as a medium by the enemy.
We are fighting a battle we have already won. God sent HIS son Jesus Christ right into the middle of this warfare. It was the enemy that put into the heart of Judas to betray Him. Yeshua our Lord God exposed himself to the enemy- the father of lies, deceit and his murderous plans; but HE endured suffering and died on the cross to make a public display of the defeat of principalities and powers in the heavenly places [Colossians 2:15]. There’s more Glory to Yeshua defeating the enemy through suffering than just taking ‘him out’, [ John 12:23 ]. There’s is even more Glory to look up to Jesus Christ in-spite of our struggles than having our troubles completely removed and loving Yeshua because of it [1 Peter 4:13]. We will share in the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, that’s why we are called to follow Him [2 Thessalonians 2:14].
We have seen how our enemy really is as a commander and how his Army operates. It takes careful preparation before a battle and that includes knowing your enemies strengths and weaknesses. Eventually every destructive thing Satan has tried to achieve throughout history will be reversed and defeated, and all that God has set out to achieve will be accomplished. This is made clear in the Scriptures. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true” [Revelation 21:5]. God has ultimate control over His creation, and Satan can do no more than allowed in our lives.
Oh Holy Spirit , open my heart and mind not to be ignorant of the enemy devices so not to have an advantage over me in my battles, In Jesus Christ name, Amen
2 Corinthians 2:11 Matthew 24:30 Revelation 20:7-10 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 1 Timothy 5:22 2 John 1:1 Ephesians 5:11 1 Corinthians 5:10 Ephesians 5:7 Matthew 6:23 Hebrews 2:14 1 John 5:18 Deuteronomy 30:19 Isaiah 65:17 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Unforgiveness is like ‘carrying so much load not necessary as a soldier in battle’. How can you march unrestricted and fight the enemy? As a result, you end up getting injured for carrying too much weight. These injuries are the afflictions and setbacks we face – these may be related to our spiritual lives -though is 24 hrs in the day -you’re unable to read your Bible daily, pray or dedicate time to fast; or perhaps you’re not ble to do any form of charity work [Acts 20:35], setbacks in your finances relating to debts, health issues , family breakdown or conflicts, educational problems , setbacks in career and business just to name a few.
If you pray with an unforgiving heart, you’re talking to yourself- ‘Your heart is the contact point with our Almighty God’ – ‘Your heart is the prayer room’. Unforgiveness is a sin which becomes a significant barrier between your heart and our Lord God Elohim. Jesus Christ [Yeshua], gave us the skill on how to win our battles and achieve anything we want in our lives – He said, ”whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing” [Mark 11:25].
Without a free-spirited heart in prayer, you cannot fight the enemy with the ‘The Word’-[John 1:1-5], the Sword in our battles – Jesus Christ. Jehovah screens our heart ‘like an X-ray’ before sending the comforter -Holy Spirit [Acts 15:8]- If you continue not to forgive others, holding grudges, anger, bitterness and pain of the past in your heart; is like allowing your weapon to get dirty in battle. You end up grieving the Holy Spirit [Ephesians 4:30-32]. How could your Prayers be powerful enough to break through all the opposition in the Heavenly places and get to the Throne of God [Daniel 10:1-21] ?
Forgiveness is one of the most difficult things to do, yet the most powerful of all skills required as a soldier of Jesus Christ. Our commander in chief said in Matthew 18, that to enter into the kingdom of God we have to be like a child. So, let’s go back to the basics brothers and sisters- the Lord’s prayer … ‘and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. So not only is this a covenant with God, but a rule in the heavens [Genesis 1:1]- if you don’t forgive you will not be forgiven by God [Matthew 6:14-15]. Yeshua has also said, …in this world there will be offence… [John 16:33]. You can not live in this world and not get offended- The people most closest to you will be your worst enemy [Matthew 10:36]. Take note, these are the people the enemy uses as his instrument, so it can become very difficult to forgive.
Unforgiveness is one of the secret weapons used by the enemy to trap us and so able to throw afflictions into our lives. Unforgiveness is a sin and if you live in sin, you’re in darkness and can’t see; this makes it very easy to be attacked by the enemy. Learn to forgive and move into light- the enemy can’t fight you in light for light overcomes darkness [John 1:5]. This is why the world is full of afflictions and setbacks. The vicious cycle of unforgiveness all around us has allowed the enemy to trap so many people [Matthew 18:21-22].
When we choose to forgive, we receive peace and freedom, but also turn the person who wronged us over to our commander in chief [Yeshua] to work on them- is like passing over a prisoner of war-’leaving it for God’ -that’s when powerful miracles happen [Psalms 103:3]. At the point of death our commander in chief showed us the power of forgiveness – Jesus Christ said on the cross, ‘Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing”…[Luke 23:34]. The final ‘ticket’ to purchase before you can enter the kingdom of God is to forgive all the people that have wronged you, even if they are unaware of what they have done to you. Jesus Christ died for us and forgave us of all our transgressions – that’s why we have freedom and salvation.
Remember to watch your tongue for is a powerful weapon; it has the power of life and death and you’ll eat it’s fruit. Is this not the same tongue we use to say ‘THE WORD’, “be delivered in the name of Jesus Christ” and the kingdom of demons and evil spirits in the heavenly places tremble? Avoid saying ‘you will never forgive’ – this is a ‘dark’ pathway the enemy uses to connect you with afflictions and setbacks in your life [Proverbs 18:21]. God our heavenly father gets angry [2 Samuel 6:7]. Is okay to get angry but do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger [Ephesians 4:26].
It is not easy to forgive – Look at forgiveness as an act of peeling an onion- you need to forgive over and over again and often times with tears in your eyes [pain]. Fast and Pray if you’re struggling to forgive someone or people that have wronged you ; during that process, Jesus Christ will see your faith and provide you with the grace to completely forgive who ever has wronged you [Luke 5:20].
“The yoke of unforgiving spirit in my life is broken in Jesus Christ name today! “Give me the Grace My Lord God to be free from unforgiving evil spirits” Amen
Ephesians 4:26-32 Colossians 3:13 Matthew 6 Matthew 18:21-35 Matthew 10:34-39 Luke 17:3-4 2 Corinthians 12:2 Proverbs 4:23
You are now wearing the uniform as a soldier of Jesus Christ [Yeshua], so not only can you be identified by your fellow soldiers [believers] but can be spotted by the enemy. Following Jesus Christ is like ‘pouring honey on the floor [you salvation into the kingdom of God]; it will attract ants, insects and all other crawling creatures [the enemy] to ‘destroy’ and ‘consume’ you- Is it people talking behind your back; a senior or manager at work doing everything to frustrate or stop your career progression; Family problems; infertility; bereavement; health problems; financial problems; setbacks in business or education; or perhaps you struggling with your spiritual life. What you need to say right now brothers and sisters, with full conviction in Jesus Christ [Yeshua]- is ‘get behind me satan!’[Matthew 16:22].
In Christianity, disciple primarily refers to a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. A disciple in the ancient biblical world actively imitated both the life and teaching of the master. It is not the same as being a student in the modern sense… If you’re a follower of Yeshua, then you’re extremely hated by the evil one; he will try all sorts of tricks and schemes to stop you from getting into the Kingdom of God [1 Chronicles 29:11]. These are all the setbacks and afflictions you face today, continue in faith for ‘’It is necessary to go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God’’ [Acts 18:27].
As a soldier going into a battle, there will be times when your strength and endurance is tested to it’s full capabilities. I have been told in the Army before that, ‘I signed up for Queen and Country’- funny right? but is the truth- I got reminded I enlisted for this by my own will. As a soldier you affirm to obey the orders of the head of State or President and the orders of the officers appointed to defend your people and it’s territories against all enemies. When you become born again and accept Jesus Christ as your savior -you have automatically enlisted in Gods Army led by Jesus Christ; you are now involved in an invincible war for the kingdom of God. When you become a soldier of Yeshua, you abandon everything to be a disciple. In Luke 14:26,33, Jesus Christ said ‘’if anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters –yes and even his own life- cannot be my disciple’’; …if you do not renounce all your possessions, cannot be my disciple [take a moment and meditate on this].
In every battle there are casualties and fatalities. The good news is that, we are following a commander who have already won the battle [1 Corinthians 15:57]. Is this not motivational enough to stop worrying and complaining about our troubles? The invincible battles you’re facing right now and getting ‘wounded’ as a result -i.e. your problems ;disappointments and setbacks in life was won when our commander in chief Yeshua laid down His life for you on the Cross at Golgotha . HIS blood has set you free, and no more entangled with the yoke of bondage [Galatians 5:1].
Your ‘troubles should rather be your friend and not an enemy’. Your troubles should highlight the fact that the enemy has identified you as a disciple of Jesus Christ [”the honey on the floor”] and want’s to do anything to stop you; use tricks to derail you from staying focus and marching on to the Kingdom of God. Yeshua said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” [Luke 9:23 ], “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. Be courageous! I have concurred the world.” [John 16:33]. You can overcome your troubles with ‘Jesus Christ-your Sword and only Weapon’. So steadfast in prayer because testing of your faith produces endurance [James 1:3]. Adonai our Lord God is with us wherever we go and so victory is ours[Joshua 1:9].
O’ Holy Spirit take my fear, worry and anxiousness and give me more of your strength and endurance as I follow you- till thy kingdom come. in Jesus Christ name-Amen
Luke 14:25-35 Philippians 3:10 John 10:1-19 Joshua 1:1-9 Luke 6:40
When you go to the market to buy food produce; do you buy everything you see at the market? The obvious answer is NO! Why? Because -you don’t need everything, you don’t have space for everything and finally, you only pick the best ‘fruits’ that are not rotten. This must be applied in your spiritual life; for is not everything you see around or hear related to Christianity is from our True God- The enemy is at work- Our Commander in Chief Jesus Christ [Yeshua] has warned us that, false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect [Matthew 24:24]; and that we should be on our guard against these people- for they will come to us in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves ;we will however, know those sent by Him by their fruits [Matthew 7:15-20].
To be a soldier – The most important of all values is to be ready to learn from your commander; then you can be able to put into practice skills learnt – all other elements of soldiering is built on the application of basic skills. When you start a new job, School, University, or join any organization, you are given set of rules, guidance or procedures to follow. We all do everything possible to follow these, so we don’t loose our position, be ‘fired’ or sacked. In warfare, often times you need to have easily accessible set of rules of engagement with the enemy. If you’re not prepared, you could be overwhelmed should you come under attack. The only standard guidance as soldiers of Yeshua is the Bible. Do you read your bible everyday to be prepared for the invisible battle we face all the time non-stop? The basic standards for our salvation are all found in the Bible- the Ten Commandments; believing Yeshua is the son of God and that, by His blood you’re saved, repentance, becoming born again and baptism of the Holy Spirit-“for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” [Romans 3:23].
The Bible says sin is violating the Ten Commandments—so why has the law been described as irrelevant and old-fashioned by many modern theologians? The simple answer is that the enemy is at work. Don’t be deceived. Most church leaders, Pastors and all the other self-titled leaders are leading so many people astray- remember hell is real. …God, “with whom there is no variation or the shadow of turning” does not change – [James 1:17] -The LORD of Armies has not changed… [Malachi 3:6]; I know that everything God does will last forever; there’s no adding to it or taking from it … [Ecclesiastes 3:14].
So, what happened to the sabbath day – which is few minutes before sunset on Friday evening until the appearance of three stars in the sky on Saturday night? This has since been observed by the Jews whilst in the dessert heading to the promise land (Israel) till this day; if this Law were to be changed, it would be reasonable to expect God Himself to announce it, and give reasons for its alteration don’t you think? Jesus Christ said, “…I have kept My Father’s commandments and remained in His Love” [John 15:10]. The women who went to anoint Yeshua’s body after Crucifixion “rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment” – [Luke 23:56 ]. Yeshua said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law of the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” [Matthew 5:17-18]; Yet for more than 2,000 years now, most Christians have worshiped on Sunday.
The book of Daniel described a “little horn power” – He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.“‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever [Daniel 7:25-26]. Apostle Paul made a similar prediction: “Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God, or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God” [2 Thessalonians 2:3-7]. Apostle Paul also warned- this blasphemy was already at work, and that, it would not come from an outside influence alone, but also within the church [Acts 20:28-30].
About 100 years before Christianity, Egyptian Mithraists introduced the festival of Sunday, dedicated to worshiping the sun, into the Roman Empire. Later, as Christianity grew, church leaders wished to increase the numbers of the church. In order to make the gospel more attractive to non-Christians, pagan customs were incorporated into the church’s ceremonies. The custom of Sunday worship was welcomed by Christians who desired to differentiate themselves from the Jews, whom they despised because of the Jews’ rejection of the Saviour at the time. The Roman emperor Constantine, a ‘former sun-worshiper’, professed conversion to Christianity, though his subsequent actions suggest the “conversion” was more of a political move than a genuine heart change. Constantine named himself Bishop of the Church and enacted the first civil law regarding Sunday observance in A.D. 321.
Pope Francis approved changes to words of Lord’s Prayer also known as the ‘Our Father’, Published Jun 6, 2019. Instead of saying, “Lead us not into temptation,” we will now say, “Do not let us fall into temptation,” this is because “It is not a good translation ,it speaks of a God who induces temptation”. A Loving Father doesn’t do that; a Father helps their child to get up immediately when they fall. It’s the enemy that leads us into temptation, that’s ‘his works’. The Lord’s Prayer comes from the Gospels in which Jesus taught his disciples the prayer. It is among the most sacred prayers in both Catholicism and Christianity. The enemy (‘the World Order’) has been at work over several centuries, standardizing the way we worship God instead of the Holy Spirit direction; translating and changing God’s commandments over and over so the real truth is lost. Jesus Christ told Peter, you are a rock, and on this rock foundation I will build my church, and not even the gates of hell will ever be able to overcome it [Matthew 16:18]. If this change in translation can now happen –everything the enemy has manipulated and changed will be reverted by Yeshua; Brother and sisters, victory is already here.
Now you know the truth and the significance going back to the basics for your salvation; Don’t be fooled and deceived – read your Bible daily and seek the truth yourself ;Jesus Christ said, “If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free ”[John 8:31-32]. ;follow the ten commandments; Observe the sabbath, because this day rest remains for God’s people [Hebrews 4:9]; meditate on the Lord’s prayer for is a powerful medium with our Lord Adonai -thought by our commander in chief Himself Yeshua- don’t destroy your soul going around different churches trying to learn how to pray -speak in tongues and looking for ‘quick solutions’ to your afflictions- allow the Holy Spirit that lives in you to guide you to pray- the enemy also speaks in tongues and is ‘destructive’ –Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the spirit of God lives in you? [1 Corinthians 3:16]. Yeshua said the whole commandments is summed up in this sentence -You are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your understanding; and your neighbour as yourself- [Luke 10:27]. If you love God you will follow HIS commandment’s.
Oh, Holy spirit – Open my eyes and ears, so that -I don’t fall for things of this world, for when YOU bestow a blessing our Lord God, it is forever; have mercy on me in Jesus Christ name I pray; Amen
When you read the good old story of David and Goliath in the Bible, one of the first thing you notice is that the Israelite army was ‘’terrified’’ of the giant [I Samuel 17:11]. Goliath started and ended each day with taunts. As this continued, it demoralized and diminished the fighting capability of the Israelites. They began to believe in spite of their best efforts, something undesirable was going to happen to them i.e. their defeat.
This is basically the definition of fear—the belief that something is out there that is going to get you and that you can’t do anything to stop it. This fear can manifest itself in many different ways— stress -anxiety-depression, nervousness, worry, dread, hopelessness, panic, insomnia, addiction to drugs ,alcohol and food e.g chocolates, physical health problems e.g. chronic heartburn, unspecified skin rashes, bowel problems to name a few—and can spring up in your life from a variety of sources. Perhaps you experience fear as a result of the environment in which you were raised; you have been maltreated, your family or and friends have made it look normal to be in fear ; you feel like you’re left behind in life- all your friends are getting married and having children- fear of getting old and cant have children; or perhaps you experience fear as a result of trying to conceal mistakes and imperfections in your life; you are ashamed of something you’ve done in the past, and you worry that one day it will be made public and brought to light; you experience fear as a result of trying to control too many things in your life or you realized that most things in your life are out of your control, and this makes you fearful about what will happen in the future.
Fear can get a foothold in your life and begin to dominate you. It can demoralize you and ultimately diminish God’s glory in your life. It can chew away your life, erode your sense of confidence, rob you of sleep, blind you and steal your praises to God. Fear is a relentless weapon the enemy uses to trap and connect you to himself. And it is one that must be broken through the power of Jesus Christ [Yeshua] our Commander in Chief.
The solution to facing the giant of fear in your life is not by determination but by faith in Jesus Christ. It isn’t so much saying, “Fear, go away,” but confessing, “I have confidence that Yeshua is bigger than this giant and has already defeated it.” In Romans 10:17, Paul states, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” . When you see and hear God in and through his Word, the Word allows you to see and hear that HE is bigger than your Fear. That builds up your faith, and your faith in turn becomes the ‘stone’ that drops the giant of fear in your life. David used the word by faith ‘I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the Israelite Armies… [I Samuel 17:45]’; that word is Jesus Christ [John 1:1-2].
So today, identify the source of your fear and place it in the hands of Yeshua. Remind yourself that with Adonai all things are possible; trust no man but God alone – because you will be disappointed; Jesus Christ will overcome all your Fears [Matthew 19:26]. The love for money will not take away your fear; being content with what you have now will bring Jesus Christ to the scene [Hebrews 13:5]. Yeshua said in Matthew 6:34 that, we should not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself; each day has enough trouble of its own.
Before every battle, there is a briefing or speech by a commander to their troops, however you build courage to follow your leader into a war zone not by the speech but by their fruits [Matthew 7:15-20]. Who do you spend your time listening to? Are they growing your faith or growing your fear? As a disciple of Jesus Christ, the opposite of fear isn’t courage but Faith – Yeshua our commander in chief said ‘’ if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the barren fig tree, but even if you tell a mountain ‘be lifted up and thrown into the sea’ it will be done [Matthew 21:18-22]. Eli (God) has commanded us to be strong and courageous and not to be afraid or discouraged for HE is with us wherever we go [Joshua 1:9]; HE is the same yesterday, today, and for ever [Hebrews 13:8].
Take a moment Brothers and Sisters, and name what is keeping you up at night- grab a pen and write them down, and then offload those cares to the One who has promised to care for you [1 Peter 5:7]. Remember we are not like others- one of our weapons is praise and worship; they are so powerful in breaking any chain of fears attached to our lives [Psalm 56:3]. Don’t spend so much time listening to songs of this world and watching immoral television programs- addicted to social media – these are currently the secret weapons the enemy is using to trap you with fear. ‘You are no longer content in life and want to be what you hear and see’. So, grab your sword against fear -fill your mouth and heart with praise and worship, because you see God’s might, recognize his love for you, and know that he will always come through. Put all your hopes onto our Lord Jesus Christ ,His mercies will never fail, for they are new every morning [Lamentations 3:22-23].
I relegate fear to its proper place: into the hands of Jesus Christ today; Eli, my Lord God is bigger than my fears and has overcome. Amen
